Arrests made in violent Vancouver assaults


VANCOUVER, Wash. (NWNN) – Six teen males have been arrested in connection with a series of violent assaults in Vancouver.

Detectives from the Vancouver Police Department say that they have arrested one 17-year-old, one 13-year-old male, two 14-year-old males, and two 15-year-old males as a result of the investigation into two vicious attacks on August 23.

Police say that the attacks began in the area of E Fourth Plain Blvd. and NE Stapleton Road. when a male who was walking along the road was assaulted by a group of young males.

Less than two hours later, they say another male was assaulted by suspects matching the same description, in the area of E 18th Street and General Anderson.

Both victims suffered serious injuries with one remaining in critical condition.

The suspects have been charged with 2 counts of robbery I, 1 count of assault I, 1 count of assault II and 2 counts of criminal mischief.  Police say the investigation is ongoing and more charges could be pending.
