PORTLAND Ore. (NWNN) – Deputies have recovered the body of an adult male, identified as 54-year-old Brian Schmitz, of Sandy, OR, from the Columbia River.
A boater near the east tip of McGuire Island spotted the body Wednesday at approximately 4:30 p.m..
MCSO River Patrol Deputies responded and the body was turned over to the Medical Examiner’s Office, who has ruled the death accidental.
Brian Schmitz was reported missing on Sunday morning September 11, after his boat was found adrift on the Columbia River with no-one on board.
Multiple agencies responded but were unable to find Schmitz at that time.
