Lane County, Ore. (NWNN) – The search for escaped inmate Jasson Ray has come to an end after he was captured by U.S. Marshals in Lane County.
Police say Ray has been on the run since he walked away from a work crew back on August 12 near the Pittock Mansion.
Prior to his arrest Monday night, he was last seen at Good Samaritan Hospital on Friday. Police say he was given a ride by an unwitting person from a neighborhood near the Pittock Mansion. Ray gave the name “Aaron Ray” to hospital staff and claimed to be suffering from an arm injury.
Ray was serving time with the Oregon Department of Corrections on weapons and theft charges. We’re told he also has prior convictions for assault and has criminal history in California and Arizona.
