Homicide investigation in East Portland after late morning shooting



PORTLAND Ore. (NWNN) – Detectives are investigating the homicide death of a 45-year-old male inside a residence on Southeast 162nd Avenue.

Early Friday, East Precinct officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 1700 block of Southeast 162nd Avenue and found a male victim deceased inside.

They say that two people, a male and a female, possibly ran from the scene and have not been located.

Officers also say they responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area and are collecting evidence to determine if it could be related to the incident.

Southeast 162nd Avenue was closed to all traffic, between Clay and Mill Street during the investigation.
