SALEM, Ore. (NWNN) – A man riding his skateboard in a crosswalk is seriously hurt after a chain reaction crash.

Deputies are still trying to piece it all together. They say it started with a crash Thursday night involving two cars. They believe a black Chevrolet passenger car was driving on Silverton Road and ran a red light.

They say the Chevrolet was then struck by another car and the impact pushed the Chevrolet into a pedestrian who was crossing the road on a skateboard.

The victim was taken to Salem Hospital with serious injuries but he is expected to survive.
