SALEM, OR (NWNN) – The morning commute for those in Salem on Wednesday came to a standstill after a semi-truck crashed, causing an off-ramp on Highway 22 to be shutdown.
It happened shortly after 7 a.m. this morning. Salem Police officers say when they got to the scene they found a semi-truck laying on its left side with the top of the trailer hanging over the edge.

The truck was hauling sawdust. Police say a considerable amount of it spilled over the side of the ramp onto the ground below on the east side of the ramp.

The driver of the semi-truck, 50-year old William Duval of Tillamook, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Salem Health for treatment.

He was cited for Careless Driving and Failure to Maintain a Log Book.

The off ramp has remained closed while crews worked to remove the truck and clean up the ramp. It opened just before 2 p.m.
